The concept of a sustainable supply chain in the universe has been created and sustained by compound interest with exponential expansion. A sustainable supply chain protects people and the environment throughout the entire chain by implementing socially and ecologically responsible activities at every level. This indicates that a company follows environmental and social requirements in both its own processes and those of its suppliers. This perception optimizes sustainability dependency on the length of the product lifespan, leading to trash collection or reprocessing but stopping short of intentionally limiting the lifecycle of goods and services. This perspective states that an alternative structure-fundamental is the so-called circular economy, which is centered on increased services, improved product life expectancy, and remanufacturing activities.
This research will help the discipline of Socio-Economic Systems Engineering shift its perspective on sustainability. Through a model of "ideal consumer behavior" that would contribute to the industry's valuable environmental and ecological improvement and enable potential advancement in the general area of sustainable production and consumption, this perspective supports the ideal equality between consumption and production in this research. More improvement is needed for the phrase “slow consumption”, which announces a slowing of the ratio.
Generally, the objective of this research is to predict the volume of waste of ready-made garments in the apparel industry using Artificial Neural Network frameworks and forecasting approaches. In the research, models employing prediction approaches have been used to evaluate the interaction between the Volume of Production (VoP) and Volume of Waste (VoW) of garments in Turkey. The aim of this study is to observe the integration of the effects of the three dimensions of sustainability in supply chain management systems depending on the apparel industry.
It is hoped that this scientific work-book “Supply Chain Management in Terms of Environmental Sustainability: An Application in Industrial Sector” will be beneficial to the academic literature and the business world
