Mustafa Özilgen is a Chemical Engineer. He has BS and MS degrees from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey, and PhD degree from the University of California at Davis, USA. He taught numerous classes at the University of California (David, USA), Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey) and the Massey University at New Zealand and authored numerous internationally published books and articles. He was a member of the organizing committee and co-editor of the proceedings of Chemeca 1997, the annual Australian and New Zealander Chemical Engineering conference. He also worked for the Marmara Research Center of Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Center. He was a recipient of one of the major research awards offered by the Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Institute (Tübitak) in 1993. He is working now as a Professor at Yeditepe University (Istanbul, Turkey).
Artistic Narrative Of Technology is authored by referring to more than 850 scientific papers and scholarly books and more than 750 paintings, engravings, advertisement posters and cartoons to explain how did the general purpose and their complementary technologies develop as people discovered the advanced methods of energy utilization. How did the consequences of the new technology, e.g., the new industrial processes, social events, air pollution, recycling, and sustainability affected our lives? And how did the artists perceive the change?
